Age 79, died peacefully on Monday, October 13, 2003 at Rennes Health Care Center. Dolores was born in Appleton, Wisconsin, on February 22, 1924, daughter of the late Ernest and Margaret (Pulger) Joecks. She married Earl Gutschow on June 22, 1946. He preceded her in death on June 3, 1991. Dolores enjoyed bowling and watching football. She also loved cooking and would bake cookies for her grandchildren on Sunday’s. Dolores was a people person and was employed at the American Legion Club for many years. Dolores is survived by her two daughters, Kay (Duke) Reim; Denice Golden, and her children, Heather and Sean; two sisters, Joan Sternhagen; Florence Kuehl; and a sister-in-law, Rosella (Clarence) Hartwig. She is further survived by nieces and nephews. Dolores was preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy Opay; son-in-law, John Golden; and two brothers-in-law, John Sternhagen; Clarence Kuehl. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, October 16, 2003 at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 West Lawrence Street, Appleton, with Rev. Larry Abler officiating. Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 15, from 4 until 8 p.m., and again at the church on Thursday from 9:30 until 10:15 a.m. A Parish Prayer and Scripture Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The entombment will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
