Appleton - Dolores A. Schwabenlender, 98, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at Cherry Meadows Hospice. She was born on May 27, 1920, in New Holstein, the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth (Head) Otto. Dolores was united in marriage to Edmund Schwabenlender on July 19, 1941, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Appleton, and he preceded her in death on February 20, 1968. She was a loving mother, great homemaker, and very sensible. Dolores will be remembered for her love of cooking and gardening, her strong natured personality, and her generous heart. She was a charter member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Appleton, and was employed as the head cook with Appleton Extended Care for many years.
Dolores is survived by 3 children: Ron (Shary) Schwabenlender, Linda (Robert) Acord, and Mary Reader; 7 grandchildren: Tom (April) Schwabenlender, Michelle (Brian) Schweitzer, Jessica (James) Martin, Kala (Stephan) Gattuso, Eric (Tiffany) Acord, Tammy (Todd) Krull, David (Val) Raatz; 6 great grandchildren: Abby, Reid, Brady, Colton, Skylar, and Ella; 3 siblings: David (Colleen) Otto, Donald (Judy) Otto, Janet Menozzi; and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Dolores was further preceded in death by a daughter: Carol Schwabenlender; son-in-law: Robert Reader; 4 siblings: Betty (Robert) Hoffman, Sr. Rosemarie Otto, Margaret Otto, and Albert Otto Jr; and a brother-in-law: William Menozzi.
Private services were held. Interment was held at St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton.
Dolores’ family would like to thank all the loving and caring staff at Cherry Meadows.
