Age 75, died on Thursday, September 16, 2004 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. Dolores was born in Appleton, on July 16, 1929, daughter of the late Clarence and Regina (Bergholz) Wassmann. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Olive Ev. Lutheran Church. Dolores graduated from the Mercy School of Nursing, Oshkosh and Marion College, Fond du Lac. She was a nursing instructor at Mercy School for 31 years and worked in administration at Bethel Home, Oshkosh, prior to her retirement. Dolores enjoyed visiting her cottage in Waupaca and playing golf and cards. She was also an avid Packer fan. Dolores loved spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She is survived by her special friend, Margaret “Susie” Sosinske; her sister, Audrey (Jim) Ertl; her brother, Norman (Sallie) Wassmann; 4 nephews: Gary Wassmann and friend, Kay; Tony (Lynn) and Mory (Lynn) Wassmann; Michael (Anne) Ertl; and 2 nieces, Rebecca (Loren) Regan; Michelle (Paul) Coenen. She is further survived by numerous other relatives. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, September 20, 2004, at MT. OLIVE EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 930 East Florida Avenue, Appleton, with Rev. Robert Raasch officiating. Visitors will be received at the church on Monday, September 20 from 9 a.m. until the time of service. The interment will be held at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. As an expression of sympathy, a memorial fund is being established.
