Dennis Charles Reinhardt, age 63 of Appleton passed away July 18, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with cancer and necrotizing myopathy. Dennis was born May 14, 1959, in Rapid City, SD to Hugh and Shirley (Kuhlman) Reinhardt.

Dennis graduated from Goodrich High School in Fond du lac, and then graduated from UW Oshkosh with a bachelor’s degree in finance.

Dennis met the love of his life and best friend, Paula Schettle when the two attended UWO. For the next 41 years, Dennis and Paula were seldom apart.

Dennis worked as a general manager for K-Mart throughout the Midwest, and at Applebee’s in Manitowoc. Following his retirement from the retail industry, he worked as a mystery shopper for Bestmark. The mystery shopping provided many opportunities for Dennis and Paula to travel around the United States.

Dennis was a history buff and the trips Paula and Dennis took to historical cities on the East Coast. Dennis was known to have wanderlust and following his studies in London he took the opportunity to travel around Europe seeing shows for student rush prices. He loved to travel, read, and time spent with his grandchildren was always a priority.

Dennis is survived by his wife Paula, son Jonathan (Jessica) Reinhardt, and grandchildren Michael, Allison, Kaitlin and Jameson. He is further survived by his sister Mary (Gene) McEssey, brother in law Rick Kritzman, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Hugh and Shirley and his sister Barb Kritzman.

A memorial service for Dennis will be held Sunday August 7, 2022, at 4:00pm at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N Superior Street, Appleton. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home from 3:00pm until the start of services.
