Fremont

Dennis Melvin Buman passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, September 2, 2024, in Fremont, Wisconsin, at the age of 76. He was born on March 14, 1948, to the late Velma Buman (Lemke) and the late Louis Buman of Greenville, WI. He attended Hortonville High School. Dennis was united in marriage to Rachel Buman (Genke) on April 2, 1967. Rachel preceded him in death on November 5, 2017. In their 50 years of marriage, they raised three children together. Dennis’ greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren, as well as enjoying nature. He raised Irish Setters and, in his younger years, enjoyed pheasant hunting with them. Additionally, he loved deer hunting and was always cheering on the Green Bay Packers on game day. Dennis was a skilled woodworker and spent over 30+ years at Richmark Patterns in Greenville, WI, where he retired.

Dennis is survived by his three beloved children, Laurie Buman, Jesse Buman, and Ryan Buman; his grandchildren, Brooke Buman, Taylor Buman, and Liam Shay; his best friend and brother, Stanley Buman; and his sisters-in-law, Nancy Buman (Holtz), Joan Buman (Stapel), Carol Davis (Genke), Janeil Butt (Genke); his brothers-in-law, Roger Davis and Ronald Butt. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and special loved ones who became part of the family, including Salli Coyle and Carrie Hixson.

In addition to his parents and wife, Dennis is preceded in death by his four brothers, Russell Buman; Donald Buman, Eugene Buman, and Jerome Buman; his three sisters, Louise Zastrow (Buman), Donna VandenBusch (Buman), and Barb Piechocki (Buman); his mother-in-law, Crystal Genke (Beirsdorf); his father-in-law, Roy Genke; his brothers-in-law, Richard Zastrow, Harry VandenBusch, Willie Piechocki, James Genke, and Jerry Genke; and his sisters-in-law, Ann Buman (VanDeurzen) and Marilyn Buman (Kloehn).

There will be a celebration of life for both Dennis and Rachel at Lake Louie in Greenville, WI, on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 12:00 to 4:00 PM. Lunch will be served at 12:30 PM. Lake Louie is located at W7568 Brush Run. South Creek Drive is off School Road, and Lake Louie is at the intersection of South Creek Drive and Brush Run.
