BOYER, DENA MARY (van Doorn)<br><br>Dena M. Boyer, age 79, of Brillion, entered eternal life on Sunday, June 16, 2007. She was born on August 18, 1927, at Ladysmith, daughter of the late William, Sr. and Diena (Nieuwenhuis) van Doorn. She attended elementary school at the old country Hassl school from where she graduated eighth grade and attended Ladysmith High School until her junior year and, because of her parents move, transferred to Tony High School and graduated in 1945 from there which is now known as Flambeau. On August 25, 1948, she married Robert J. Boyer and, until his death in 2002, they were married fifty-four years. They resided in Brillion since 1963 and she has continued to make her home there. She was employed by Zander Press Inc., a printing company, for twenty-three years as a proofreader, receptionist, amongst other duties. To this happy union, three daughters were born. They are Mary Dena (Gerald) Schulz of Butte des Morts, Debra (Steven) Mahlberg of Brownsville, and Roberta Repsa of Port Edwards; her eight grandchildren, Tricia (Steven) Voelz, William (Kim) Schulz, David Schulz (fiancée Anna Kjelland), Benjamin (Holly) Marx, Nicholas Marx, Matthew Repsa (fiancée Samantha Nowak), Christopher Repsa and Alex Repsa; two great granddaughters, Brooke Dena Voelz and Madison Mae Repsa; and one great grandson, James Steven Voelz. She is further survived by her brothers, William van Doorn, Jr, Everet (Ida May) van Doorn, her sister, LaVesta (Gary) Lance, her sisters-in-law, Berdina van Doorn and Jeanne van Doorn; and many nieces and nephews. Her husband, Robert, her parents and two brothers, Cornelius and Gerardus van Doorn, and a sister-in-law, Corinne van Doorn preceded her in death. Dena was an active member of Peace United Church of Christ, Brillion. Her many responsibilities and positions included that of editor of the church newsletter and occasionally as lay preacher. Memorial services for Dena will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2007, at PEACE UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, 489 South Glenview Avenue, Brillion, with Rev. Dr. Cathey Rennick officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
