Delphine M. Herbeck

Age 89, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2001 at the Appleton Medical Center. Del was born August 3, 1911, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Lauer) Thiel. She was married to Henry Herbeck who preceded her in death on January 29, 1991. Del was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sherwood and of the St. Ann Society there. She was also a charter member of the American Legion Post 496 Auxiliary. Del was an avid gardener and enjoyed caring for her flowers and vegetables.

Survivors include her son: Don (Carol) Herbeck of Appleton; three grandchildren: Kathy (Randy) Andersen of Madison, Dave (Tina) Herbeck of Appleton, and Mike (Darcy) Herbeck of Menasha; five great-grandchildren: Brett and Eric Andersen, Charlie and Sam Herbeck, and Emma Herbeck; a sister: Sally (Herb) Thelen of Manitowoc; a brother: Gilbert (Hazel) Thiel of Winneconne. Del was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry, a brother Al, and sisters Verona, Bob, Mary Ann, Laura, and Sr. Rita.

The funeral liturgy for Del will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 23, 2001 at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, in Sherwood with Fr. Kenneth Frozena officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 9:00 AM until the hour of the liturgy.
