Debra Mary Glass

September 23, 1957 — February 22, 2024

Appleton

Debra M. Glass passed away on February 22, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Appleton, on September 23, 1957 to Wilbert and Catherine (Revoir) Pomeroy.

From a young age, Debra danced to the beat of her own drum, always seeking out new adventures and forming connections wherever she went. Her career as regional property manager at United Financial Group added to the richness of her life, but it was her passion for styling hair and makeup that truly brought out her creativity. A graduate of City College of Cosmetology, Debra found joy in transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary, often practicing her skills on her Uncle David and father Will. Their shared laughter during haircut sessions exemplified the love and light that Debra brought into every room.

Debbie had a flair for decorating during the holiday seasons; Halloween and Christmas were special times for her. Her house would transform into a festive wonderland each Christmas as she meticulously curated themes and involved her children in tree decorating (even if she ended up rearranging every ornament they hung).

Family gatherings were Debra's delight, where she relished in watching football, sharing fish fries, and simply basking in the presence of loved ones. Her outgoing personality found an outlet in karaoke nights with friends like Laurie Jarvis, where they sang their hearts out and created priceless memories while on their trip to Denver, Colorado. Weekly dinner gatherings with friend Chris Franklin became a cherished tradition filled with good food, laughter, and camaraderie. Debbie's hobbies included crafting and rummage sale shopping with her brother Greg and his partner Audrey on Saturday mornings.

Trips to Florida with Derrick and his wife Amber were treasured moments filled with beach walks, visits to historical sites like St. Augustine Fort, and delicious meals at Joe’s Crab Shack.

Debbie, with brother Chris and his wife Roxanne enjoyed gathering to grill out, have a campfire, and play Scrabble, Phase10, or Uno. While she and dear friends Shirley and Luis Vasquez went on memorable trips together to Mexico; Shirley was a constant source of strength, positivity, and companionship.

Debbie also had a love for ballroom dance and joined Adagio dance studio where she performed a routine with her dance instructor at the Fox Cities Performing Center for their Winter Showcase. Debbie was a jokester, and you never really knew what she would say next… ask anyone who knew her. Sometimes all you could do was laugh and shake your head.

Debbie is survived by her daughter Stephanie (Matt) Lind, brothers Chris (Roxanne) Pomeroy and Jamie (Judith) Pomeroy and sister Catherine (Tim) Wolf, daughter-in-law Amber Glass, nieces and nephews Melissa, Adam, Ashley, Andrew, Lydia and Benjamin as well as a multitude of friends who became like family over the years. She is preceded in death by her parents, son Derrick Glass, brothers Joseph and Gregory Pomeroy. Debra’s family would like to extend their immense gratitude to the amazing staff at Cherry Meadows.

A celebration of life to honor Debbie will be held on March 23, 2024 from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm at Ridgeview Highlands, 640 Ridgeview Circle #108 in Appleton.
