Dawn L. Wichman

Dawn L. Wichman, 80 years old, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021 surrounded by her children at her home in Appleton. Dawn was born on April 2, 1941 in Cayuga to her loving parents Marion Marvin and Bernice Vivian (Hovland) Lawver. On September 11, 1971, Dawn married the love of her life, Allen G. Wichman. They together raised their children. She was a very active member of the Moose Lodge #367 in Appleton, where she loved calling bingo. She also loved to play bingo, go to thrift stores, go camping, and cookout with family. She liked to watch wrestling and watch spooky movies. Dawn enjoyed making all different kinds of crafts and giving them away. Dawn loved to see people smile when she gave them something she made, even to complete strangers. Dawn was very caring and always put others before herself, but she especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Dawn is survived by her children: Dale Calkins, Jeanette (Bruce) Kavanaugh, and Michelle Vanden Bloomer, all of Appleton. (16) Grandchildren: Nate Jr, Ann, Jeramie, Ricky, Sara, Edward, Gerald, Katie, Cayla, Jazmine, Melinda, Melissa, Dustin, Derek, Tiffany and Jasper. (26) Great Grandchildren. Brother: Melvin (Shelly) Lawver. Sisters: Mary Lenox, Mavise (John) Schutte, and Jolene Lawver. Aunt Darlene Siebel, Cousin Marrilee (Ted) Hawber, her dog Fefe, a.k.a. Stupid, and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: Allen G. Wichman, her parents: Marion and Bernice Lawver, her Brother-in-law: Roy Lenox and her Nephew: Calvin Lenox.
A service will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Wichmann Funeral Home (537 N. Superior Street, Appleton, WI 54911). Pastor Mary Bauer will officiate. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at Wichmann Funeral Home.
The family of Dawn would like to give thanks to Dr. Ping Lady, the staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital and the staff at Compassus Hospice Services for their loving care of our mother.
