David J. Nagan, Sr. passed away on Friday September 6, 2024, at St. Paul Hospice in Kaukauna, WI.
He was born on March 30, 1928, to Alphonse and Bertha (Maude) Nagan in Kaukauna, WI.
David served in the U.S. Navy at the end of WWII from May 30, 1946, to March 23, 1948, in the Mediterranean on the USS Midway with the rank of Fireman First Class. He was a lifetime member of the Franken VFW POST 10708 in Illesheim, Germany.
He married Delores Vander Loop on June 19, 1951, and together raised 7 children.
He loved bowling and was the first person to achieve a perfect score of 300 at the Bowling Bar, formerly known as the S & B Alleys on October 17, 1961, in Kaukauna, WI.
He remarried Jaqueline Albers on April 19, 1985, and resided in Lakewood, WI until returning to Kaukauna.
David was a machinist by trade, retiring in 1993; then enjoyed hunting, cross country skiing, the outdoors, and his trips to visit his son’s family in Germany.
David is survived by his children: Dale (Renate) Nagan in Germany, Tom (Rita) Nagan, David (Mary Ann) Nagan, Brenda (Russ) Leeman, Penny TeGroen, and Michelle Greely. There are 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wives; a son, Steve Nagan; son-in-law, Steve; his parents, brothers, sisters, and a grandchild.
A private memorial service, for Dave’s immediate family, will be held at Wichmann Fargo Funeral Home in Kaukauna, WI, on Saturday September 21, 2024, at 10:30am.
Extended family and friends are welcome to join the family to share memories of Dave and express condolences at Hollander’s in Little Chute following the ceremony.
Interment will take place at Central Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery, King, WI with military honors in 2025.
