David John Lasecki, age 71 of Appleton, WI joined his heavenly kingdom on September 6, 2023. He was born to Ezra and Anna Marie (Oudenhoven) Lasecki on January 16, 1952. David graduated from Seymour High School with the class of ’70 and later went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay. He became a respiratory practitioner, working with ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton, formerly Appleton Medical Center.
David was a true outdoorsman – an adventure seeker – spending as much time as he could in the deep woods hunting, fishing, camping, and downhill skiing. He also enjoyed gardening, growing vegetables and herbs to make the great food he so loved. David was an incredibly intelligent man, always learning and researching new subjects, taking apart and repairing everything, and outwitting everyone in a game of chess. He even went as far as to memorize every card and answer in the expert version of Trivial Pursuit. You could often find him tinkering with his ’05 Chevy Silverado and ’71 Mustang Mach 1, maintaining their outer and inner workings. More than anything, though, David was incredibly proud of his family and loved spending as much time as he could with his kids, grandkids, and siblings.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Ezra and Anna Marie; his grandchildren, Alexis and Monica; and his nephews, Chase and Jeff.
David is survived by his children, Heather and Paul; his grandchildren, Jaydon, Ethan, Kiara, and Piper; his siblings, Rose Ann Henn, Carol (Robert) Rehfeldt, Steven (Linda) Lasecki, and Doris (Robert) Koslowski; his best friends, Tom and Dan; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
A funeral visitation will be held for David on Monday, September 18, 2023 from 1-3 PM at Wichmann Funeral Home – Tri-County Chapel, 1592 Oneida St, Menasha, WI 54952 with a funeral service to follow at 3 PM. David will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Appleton, WI at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for David.
David’s family would like to thank the staff at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton (especially the ones David knew personally) for the care and compassion they provided for David during his time there.
