David J. Huettner, 78 of Appleton, passed away surrounded by his family on March 31, 2016 of heart disease. David was born on February 20, 1938 in New London Wisconsin to the late Aloysius and Margaret (Olson) Huettner. He was a graduate of New London High School. After graduation, he studied chemistry at St. Norbert College in De Pere and later received his PhD at Washington State University. He began his career at IBM and locally he was employed with the Institute of Paper Chemistry as a Professor, with Akrosil of Menasha and as a consultant in Silicone Chemistry. He was active with the Solid Rock Ministries and his church's small group bible study ministry. He was a member of Appleton Community Evangelical Free Church.
David was a man of strong faith and a family man. He loved going to his grandchildren's sporting events and watching baseball, football, basketball and hockey.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Charlotte, children: Joseph (Linda) Huettner of Appleton; Andrew Huettner of Combined Locks; Thomas Huettner of Chicago; Jennifer Huettner of Ann Arbor, Michigan, grandchildren: Matthew (Brielle), Patrick, Christopher, Michael and Michael Huettner, as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Eugene Huettner.
Visitation for David will be at Appleton Community Evangelical Free Church, 2490 W Capitol Drive in Appleton on Sunday, April 3, 2016 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm and again on Monday April 4, 2016 from 10:00am to 11:00am.
