David L. Gauger

David L. Gauger (Dave) (86) of Appleton, passed away on September 26, 2023 in Appleton.

Dave was born on May 29, 1937 to Harry and Esther Gauger in Oshkosh, WI.  He grew up in Oshkosh, attending school there and graduating from Oshkosh High School in 1955. 

Dave was a 1960 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  On September 14, 1963, Dave married Judy Miller at White Bear Lake, MN.

He worked for Amoco Oil Company for 27 years, starting in the Milwaukee office, then Minneapolis and finally moving to Kansas City in 1967 before retiring from Amoco in 1988. Dave then worked in the Materials Management Department at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City for 10 years.  Dave and Judy moved from Overland Park, KS back to Appleton, WI in 2007.   

Throughout his life, Dave enjoyed woodworking, gardening and home improvement projects.  However, his greatest enjoyment more recently was watching his beloved Brewers and Packers. 

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Judy Gauger, his son, Michael Gauger (Marianne), and two grandsons, Sam and Charlie Gauger.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Esther Gauger and his brother, Jim Gauger.

He will be fondly and lovingly remembered by his family and many friends. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
