David E. Lamon, Jr.

Age 89, died Wednesday morning, January 1, 2003, due to complications of leukemia. He was born May 29, 1913, to the late David E. and Anna E. (Sailor) Lamon, Sr., in Three Lakes, Wisconsin and had been an Appleton resident since 1947. David had been employed by Appleton Machine Company, (Metso) retiring in 1978 and consulted with the company until the age of 83. He enjoyed vacationing in Three Lakes, boating and woodworking, and created and donated clocks to the Xavier High School Food Fair for 24 years. David was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Ellen Nora (Bockelman) Lamon; three sons and daughters-in-law, David E. and Diane Lamon, III, Appleton, (retired from Xavier High School); Steven and Annette Lamon, Sr., River Forest, IL; Thomas and Patricia Lamon, Conover, WI; nine grandchildren, Susan (Brian) Hlinak, Manitowoc; Catherine (Craig) Anderson, Glen Ellyn, IL; Patricia (John) Vanden Heuvel, Kaukauna; Mary (Stevens Smith) Lamon-Smith, Madison; Ellyse Lamon, River Forest, IL; Steven Mark Lamon, River Forest, IL; William Lamon, River Forest, IL; Adda Lamon, Conover; David E. Lamon IV, Conover; 13 great grandchildren; two sisters, Marguerite Oestreich, Bloomington, IN; Frances Wichmann, Three Lakes; a sister-in-law, Betty Lamon, Three Lakes; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Ethel and Howard McDonald, a brother, John Lamon, and two brothers-in-law, Robert Wichmann and Arthur Oestreich. The Funeral Liturgy for David will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 7, 2003, at ST BERNADETTE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2331 East Lourdes Drive, with Father Harold Berryman officiating. Burial will be in St. Theresa Cemetery, Three Lakes, WI. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday, from 9:00 am, until the time of the mass. A memorial fund is being established.
