Dave Buelow, age 76, passed away at the Appleton Medical Center on Wednesday, March 22, 2006. He was born near Bonduel in the Shawano County town of Washington on July 4, 1929, the son of the late Edwin and Clara (Seidler) Buelow. During the Korean War, Dave was called to serve his country as a member of the United States Army, and was honorably discharged from that service in 1952. Following his military service, Dave married the former Marian Hetke on March 6, 1954 in Cornell, Wisconsin. Many will remember Dave for his love for and his skill in woodworking and carpentry. For many years, he worked as a self-employed carpenter and cabinet maker. He also enjoyed fishing and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Marian Buelow of Appleton; five children: Dorothy (David) Enger of Colfax, Wisconsin; Nancy (Douglas) Eilks of Lake Mills, Wisconsin; Susan (Robert) Benson of Superior, Wisconsin; Mark Buelow of Cassville, Wisconsin; and Beverly (Robert) Morris of St. Charles, Illinois; four grandchildren: Eric Benson who is serving in the United States Navy and his fiancée Christy Degenhardt; April Benson of Superior; Shane Carroll of St. Charles, Illinois; and Michael Morris of St. Charles, Illinois; a sister: Shirley Buelow of Appleton; two brothers: Robert (Patricia) Buelow of Appleton and Marvin Buelow of Menasha; two sisters-in-law: Myrtle Conn of Pierce, Arizona; and Caroline (Duane) Crank of Cadott, Wisconsin; a brother-in-law: Norbert Fuhrman of Combined Locks, Wisconsin; as well as by many nieces and nephews. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, a son Glenn Buelow, a sister Irene Fuhrman, and brothers Irvin, LeRoy, and Victor Buelow.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, March 25, 2006 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri County Chapel, 3212 S. Oneida Street, with Rev. Paul Brinkman of Faith Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 8:30 AM until the hour of the service. The family has suggested that memorials be directed to Together In Missions or the Faith Lutheran Radio Ministry, c/o Faith Lutheran Church, 601 E. Glendale Avenue, Appleton, WI 54911.
