David Allan Umphlett

David A. Umphlett, 52 years, passed away December 1, 2016 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center – Appleton after a sudden heart attack at home. He was born on April 22, 1964 to his loving parents Charlie Morgan and Priscilla Ann (Hamlin) Umphlett in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was a graduate of Bay View High School Class of 1982. David earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from UW-Milwaukee. As a materials engineer and manager, he worked around the county including California, Nevada, Ohio and Wisconsin including 21 years with Bemis Company, Inc.
David married the love of his life Carol (Weatherston) Umphlett on June 16, 2000. Together they enjoyed travelling with their son Chas to Mexico, the beach and especially Key Largo, Florida. He loved fishing with his son Chas. He was an accomplished wood worker who built most of the furniture in his home. Most of all he loved to be together with his family and friends sharing good stories.

David will be missed by his wife Carol W. Umphlett, son Charles Morgan “Chas” Umphlett, parents Charlie Morgan (Brenda) Umphlett, siblings John Umphlett and Elizabeth (Andrew) Page. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Pricilla (Hamlin) Umphlett.

A time of sharing for David will be Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 8 PM at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton. Private inurnment. Family and friends may call Wednesday, at Wichmann Funeral Home, from 5 PM until Time of Sharing.

David's family thanks the Grand Chute Paramedics for their quick, compassionate and professional care.
