Daniel J. Van Linn passed away on June 17, 2020 as the result of a tragic accident.
Dan was a unique, loving and generous husband, brother, uncle and friend. He was an enthusiastic outdoorsman, whose hunting skills provided many a meal to his fortunate family and friends, but he found true peace in fishing. He called all animals his friends. He was an innovative entrepreneur and, in recent years, started his own businesses. He was a multi-talented worker and artist. Everyone will remember him for his big heart and willingness to help others with whatever they needed.
Dan is survived by his loving wife and high school sweetheart, Laura (Johnson) Van Linn. They were married on June 17, 1995 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Appleton, WI.
He is further survived by his father, Daniel Van Linn; mother, Linda Van Linn; siblings, Sara (Jon) Sturm, Kurry (Melissa) Van Linn, Cherish (Oscar) Carrillo and Danielle Van Linn; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Dan had a special bond with his Johnson in-laws: Mark (Kim) Johnson, Jeff (Jan) Johnson, Mike (Cindy) Johnson, Cathy Burns, Jean Johnson and David (Janet) Johnson; as well as their many children and grandchildren. They are devastated by the loss of Dan. He also had a special family relationship with Tom, Mary and Mary Beth Reinke.
A small, family memorial service and inurnment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Menominee, MI on a date to be determined.
“Dan was the love of my life and anyone who saw us together knew how he felt. I know that he is in heaven with his long list of questions bugging God! He will be enjoying the woods, fishing, and hunting with Keesha, Sassy, Magnus, Molly, Hope and Sammy. He will not be lonely with so many buddies. I am sure he will welcome Sophie and Gem and myself when it is our time and we will be a family again and my heart will be whole again. I love you so very much Dan.” -Laura
