Daniel Stephen Evans

Dan Evans found peace on Tuesday, September 27, 2005. Dan was born in Appleton, Wisconsin on October 31, 1974. He was the second of four boys who proudly looked up to his older brother and was very comfortable giving advice to his younger brothers. While reading books and making funny faces together, Dan enjoyed a special relationship with his niece, Evie, who adored him. Dan attended grade school and middle school in Appleton where he was a member of St. Mary’s, graduated from Wayland Academy in Beaver Dam, WI and attended Marquette University.

Dan lived and worked with great passion to catalyze social change through various jobs and volunteer opportunities. He had profound empathy for all those in need, taking special interest in the homeless of all ages. Recently Dan was an active participant in the programs at Skyland Trails Health and Education Center in Atlanta. Dan made a difference in the lives he touched and had a memorable impact on all who knew him.

Dan leaves behind many relatives and friends who loved him. His calm demeanor and ability to actively listen helped to build many meaningful relationships. He will be greatly missed. Dan is survived by his parents, Steve and Mary Evans; three brothers, Matthew (Wendy), Patrick and Alex; his niece Evelyn, and his grandparents, James and Kathryn Evans and Vincent LeCapitaine. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Evelyn LeCapitaine.

Funeral services for Dan will be held on Saturday October 1, 2005 at 11 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church 312 S. State St. Appleton, WI with Fr. Michael O’Rourke officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5 to 7 PM and on Saturday at church from 10 AM until the time of the mass. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial funds are being established for NAMI Fox Valley and George West Mental Health Foundation c/o Skyland Trails Health and Education Center, 1903 N. Druid Hills Rd. Atlanta GA 30319.
