DALE ERICKSON
CPA, Retired Partner of Erickson and Associates
Age 62, died Wednesday, July 18, 2001 of complications following surgery. He was born December 5, 1938 to the late Leif and Odelia (Erickson) Erickson in Melvina, Wisconsin. Dale married the former Ann Higgins on June 11, 1960 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Madison. Dale graduated from University of Wisconsin-Madison and founded the accounting firm, Erickson and Associates. He was a longtime member of First English Lutheran Church, serving as President of the Church Council, Treasurer of the Trust Fund and a member of the Facilities Planning Committee. Dale was also the past president of FISC, the United Way and the Bethany Home in Waupaca. He was a member of the Appleton Yacht Club, Optimist Club, Elks Club and was also involved in many other community activities. Dale enjoyed boating, especially on Lake Michigan and on Lake Huron; he also enjoyed hunting with his special brother in law, Del. He passionately promoted awareness of organ donation and the benefits of the Organ Transplant Program through the 2nd Wind Transplant Association and the Northeast Wisconsin Transplant Association.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Erickson; his son, Jeff (Paula De Hart) Erickson; his daughter, Amy Ahrens; his granddaughter, Ashley Ahrens; and his longtime friend, Barney.
He was preceded in death by a son, Bradley and a brother, Keith.
The Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM on Monday July 23, 2001 at FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 326 East North Street, Appleton with Pastors Chris Quello, Will Bloedow and Frank Connor officiating. Viewing and visitation will be SUNDAY at the FUNERAL HOME from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM and again at CHURCH on MONDAY from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow at The Historic Riverside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, all memorials will be directed to Organ Transplant Research at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison.
