Cynthia M. "Cindy" Kleinschmidt

Cynthia “Cindy” Mae (nee. Piehl) Kleinschmidt, born June 6, 1958 in Kaukauna, Wisconsin to Norman and Carol Piehl, was called home to her heavenly father on October 16, 2021 peacefully at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center Appleton at the age of 63.

Cindy grew up in Kaukauna until her late teens before moving with her parents to Rothschild and graduating from DC Everest Senior High in 1976. After graduating Cindy moved to the Appleton area where she would meet her husband Alan “Al” Kleinschmidt, whom she married on August 25, 1984. They moved to Sturtevant where her greatest joy occurred with the birth of their only child together and then they returned to Appleton, where they lived until her passing.

Cindy enjoyed her time reading, playing card games, cooking, wonderful deserts, taco salad and dip as well as putting on her famous family feasts. She explored many job opportunities throughout her life time until settling in at Alta Resources. She also enjoyed working her summers weekends at Wisconsin International Raceway with her family.

Cindy was an adoring wife, caring mom, loving sister and the bestest grandma beep.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents Norman and Carol Piehl as well as Al’s parents Eugene and Ardice Kleinschmidt.

Cindy is survived by her loving husband Al, son Jonathan “Jon” Kleinschmidt, daughter Jennifer “Jen” Hiroskey (Nic), son Jeffery “Jeff” Kleinschmidt (fiance April Arendt), sisters Gloria “Glor” Piehl and Sharon Holmberg (John), brother David Piehl and grandchildren Dannielle “Danni” (Alex), Victoria “Vicki”, Bella, Abel, Jade and many nephews and nieces.

A Funeral Service for Cindy will take place at 2 PM on Tuesday October 26, 2021 at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton, WI 54911.  Family and friends may visit at the funeral home from 12 PM to the time of service. The funeral service may be viewed via Livestream by visiting this site on the day of the service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate her life.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for the care given by the doctors and nurses at ThedaCare, especially those in the Oncology Department.
