Corrine R. Coppens, age 81, passed away on October 28, 2018. Born on May 25, 1937, she was raised in the Black Creek area, the daughter of the late Victor and Hildegard (Moser) Baumann. Corrie married Neal Coppens on January 16, 1960. She and Neal ran Coppens Printing Company out of their home where Corrie proudly learned to use the printing press and completed most of the work on her own. Later, Corrie worked at Appleton Medical Center in multiple positions. She was an avid walker, enjoyed cross country skiing and reading mystery novels. She also enjoyed spending time with her sisters and golfing together in the summer. Corrie was a long-time member at Sacred Heart in Appleton.
Corrie is survived by six children, Kathy (Clark) Van Straten; Fran (Tom) Ebben; Valerie (Steve) Jaske; John (Margaret) Coppens; Peggy (Ken) Smith and Jen (Steven) Russell; twelve grandchildren, Sheila (Keith) Kittoe and Crystal (Paul) Patton; Carly (Ryan) Beasley and Luke (Audra) Ebben; Rheanna (Ryan) Dickerson, Ben (Katie) Jaske and Molly Jaske; Alyssa, Chance and Kailey Coppens; Samantha and Andy Smith; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary Timmerman, Sally Vandenheuvel, Jane (Willie) Woelfel, Joan (Vern) Kempen, Cliff (Pam) Baumann, Donna (Bob) Ziesemer and Mike Baumann; siblings-in-law, Jerry Fischer, Al King and Liz Baumann. She is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Neal Coppens; daughter, Elizabeth Marie Coppens; son, Gregory Allen Coppens; siblings, Bill (Delores) Baumann, Betty Fischer, Pete Baumann and Barb King.
The funeral service for Corrie will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Wichmann Funeral Home (537 N. Superior St., Appleton) with a reception to follow. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of service. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Neal, at St. Mary Cemetery in Appleton.
