Corinne Luella Brinker

Corinne Luella (Stiemert) Brinker passed away on January 31, 2018 at the age of 92 with family by her side. Corinne was born in Escanaba, MI on June 21, 1925 to the late Warren and Albena (Jackson) Stiemert. Corinne graduated from high school when she was 16 years old. As a young woman she went to Chicago, IL to visit her Aunt Dora and stayed for a while to work at the Wrigley Gum Factory. She then came back to Escanaba, MI where she worked as a waitress at Belle’s Diner. She married Robert Brinker on September 18, 1947; he preceded her in death in November of 2009. She spent most of her life in Escanaba, later moving to Neenah, WI to be close to her daughter and brother. She enjoyed the outdoors, birds, flowers, gardening, family picnics, crocheting, playing the piano and reading.

She is survived by her daughters: Diane (Wayne) DeGrand, Menasha, WI and Sandra Brinker (Mike Bonifas), Escanaba, MI; grandchildren: Alexis Moericke (Rick Dzemske), Mayville, WI, Jennifer (Andrew) Christianson, Appleton, WI, & Noel DeGrand, Kimberly, WI, great-grandchildren: Elaine and Myles Christianson, Alison and Heather Moericke; brothers: Ward Stiemert (Leona Seely), Ocala, FL, and Whitlow Stiemert, Neenah, WI; nieces: Deborah (Robert) Sword- St Cyr, Mollie Sword, both from Gladstone, MI; great-niece, Diana Kelly-O’Driscoll and her children Ashley Kelly, Mitch Kelly and Devin Eckberg; cousins Lynda Maroney and Donna Goodyear-Haskins; as well as other cousins and special friend, Ruby Tryan. She was preceded in death by her sister Shirley, brother Warren, and sister-in-law Carley Stiemert.

Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Escanaba, MI in the spring with a graveside service. Per Corinne’s request, private family services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, Corinne requested that memorials be sent to Lakeview Cemetery, 2110 Third Ave South, Escanaba, MI 49829.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Assisi Homes of Neenah (Barb, Will & Stephanie), and the nursing staff on the 5th floor of ThedaCare Neenah, ER and Dr. Sibla.
