Connie L. Seekins, age 50 of Neenah, passed away on October 21, 2016 at her home after a long, courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer, with her family at her side. Connie was born on March 18, 1966 in Shawano to Morley and Betty (Brauer) Spears. On April 1, 2001 she married Joe Seekins. She was employed for over 10 years as a cashier at Walmart. Connie was a proud mother and grandmother and loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She was also a very loving and giving person who believed in the phrase “Pay it Forward”. She loved angels, her dogs and travelling with family and friends. She was a founding member of Operation Chemo Comfort and an active volunteer with the Children's Miracle Network.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Joe, children: James (Mariah) Berg of Neenah; Matthew Berg of Neenah; Catie (Robert) Winter of Appleton, grandchildren: Remy, Catalina, Chayton, Carson, Aliyah, Abigail, Eli, Chloe and one “on the way”, her siblings: Debe (Ron) Pyszora of Menasha; Todd Spears of Oshkosh; Jim Spears of Appleton; Chad Thurber and Betty Jo Thurber of Armstrong Creek; Jessica (Jim) Austin of Neenah as well as many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her “Special Mom”, Ma Pat.
There will be a gathering to celebrate her life on Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at Wichmann-Laemmrich Funeral Home of Menasha. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses of Heartland Hospice for the care given to Connie during her illness. A very special thank you to Connie's Hospice Nurse, Karen who became like family to Connie. Also, a special thank you to Connie's friends Judy and Diane for always being there for Connie and taking her on some of her “travels”.
In lieu of flowers and other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund will be established.
