Clifford Wilz

Age 76, passed into eternal life, Thursday, July 12, 2001. Clifford was born on June 11, 1925, in the Town of Harrison, son of the late Louis and Adeline (Corrigan) Wilz. He served in the Navy Amphibious Force landing craft in the South Pacific Islands; to include the 1945 occupation of Japan during World War II. Clifford was employed by Riverside Paper until his retirement. He was a volunteer fireman for 30 years, and a member of the Darboy American Legion. Clifford was also a member of Riverview Lutheran Church. He married Jeanette Brockman on March 7, 1950, and they have enjoyed 51 years of marriage. Clifford is survived by his wife Jeanette; his five children, Sharon (Rich) Krause, Merrill; Gary (Bette) Wilz, Appleton; Bruce (Diane) Wilz, Darboy; Dennis (Mary) Wilz and Steve (Jane) Wilz, all of Appleton; eleven grandchildren; and one great-grandson. He is further survived by nieces and nephews. Clifford was preceded in death by his brothers, Bernard and Daniel; and his sister, Eileen. The Funeral Service will be held at 7:30 p.m., on Sunday, July 15, 2001, at RIVERVIEW EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 136 West Seymour Street, Appleton, with Rev. Dennis Belter officiating. Interment will be held at Highland Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the church on Sunday, July 15, from 4:30 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established to benefit Riverview Ev. Lutheran Church. The family would like to extend a warm thank you to Manor Care Health Services, and Pastor Belter and Peter Wolfgramm from Riverview Lutheran Church.
