Cliff died Friday, June 25, 2004 at the Cherry Meadow Hospice, after a very short illness. He was born November 26, 1924 and grew up in Eau Claire, where he graduated from Memorial High School. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and the University if Wisconsin- LaCrosse. Cliff served with the U. S. Navy Air Corps for three years. He was a physical education teacher at James Madison Jr. High School for 35 years. Fishing, travel and brick and stone construction, were favorite activities. He built the house featured in the Post Crescent article, “The House the Washburn’s Built”.

Cliff is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joyce; a son, Christopher “Kip”; a brother, Ade (Jan) Washburn, of Eau Claire; and many special friends.

Memorial services for Clifford will be held at 12:00 pm (Noon), Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, with Reverend Kurt Kovanen officiating. Entombment will be in Appleton Highland Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10:00 am, Tuesday, until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established.
