Claude C. Thede

Claude C. Thede, 78 years, passed away December 2, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in the presence of his loving family. He was born August 19, 1939 to his parents John and Pearl Thede in Three Lakes, Wisconsin. Claude attended Neenah High School before enlisting in the US Navy. He was proud of his time in the US Navy serving on the USS Hermitage. On November 18, 1961 Claude and Shirley Thede (Raddatz) were married at St. Mathew Lutheran Church, Appleton. Together they shared 56 years of marriage. Claude was a dedicated employee of the Fox River Paper Company who worked there for 40+ years.

Claude enjoyed his time playing sports including golf, bowling and his favorite, softball. Card games of sheephead and cribbage were shared with family and friends. “Aw Geez”. Favorite family time was spent at the cottage on Anderson Lake where they would gather for lazy weekends or special family days. Claude and Shirley made a point to attend the various sports events his beloved grandchildren and great-nieces. Claude was a beloved husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa.

Claude will be missed by his wife Shirley Thede, children Kim (Brian) Kramer, Robin (Tom Wyngaard) Thede, and Tony (Jenny) Thede, grandchildren Shayne (Sonia) Thede-Kramer, Alyssa (Eric Owen) Kramer, and Cody (Leslie) Thede, great-grandchildren Dakota Thede-Kramer and Oakley Thede, twin-brother Cloyd (Judy) Thede, special nieces Sandra (Jeff) Baseman and Tara (Dave) Corson, and close friend Tom Graham. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents John and Pearl Thede,Father and mother- in-law Walter and Meta Raddatz , sister-in-law Ruth (Marshall) Schroeder, and close friend Leo O’Conner.

A Funeral Service for Claude will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Wichmann Funeral Home Tri-County Chapel, 1592 Oneida St., Menasha. Private entombment Highland Memorial Park. Family and friends may gather at the Tri-County Chapel from 1:00 pm until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Claude’s name will be established.
