Clare J. Markovits

MARKOVITS, CLARE J.

Clare Markovits, age 72, of Appleton, died on Sunday, September, 17, 2006, at Cherry Meadows in Appleton. Clare was born on July 12, 1934, in York, England, to the late Herbert and Alice (Long) Atkin. She was an active member of the International Club and the Brit Club. Clare was the owner and operator of Clare’s Beauty Salon.

Survivors include her son, Robert Markovits and his partner Troy Beaudo of Appleton; her brother, Edward Akin of York, England; her niece, Elizabeth (Doug) Beula of Wausau; special friends, Patty, Emil and Beth and her grandpuppy, Opie Joe. Clare was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce (Elton) Rice and her first dog, Dinki. She will be missed by all of her English friends, Jeannie, Ina, Sheila, Joyce and Lilly and her friends Jessica, Jennifer, Nancy, Brenda and Nikki at the “D” that she became so fond of.

Memorial services will be at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2006, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL with Fr. Gerald Falk officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
