Age 88, passed away on April 7, 2004 at the New Care Convalescent Center, Crivitz, WI. She was born on July 28, 1915 to the late Mr. & Mrs. Peter (Rose) VandeHey.
She married Kenneth L. Wallace on August 10, 1937 at St. Paul’s Church, Wrightstown, WI. She had been a member of the Sacred Heart Church, Appleton, WI. She had always been active in the church, loved gardening, golf and making quilts for her children and grandchildren.
Clara and her husband Ken lived the majority of their lives in Appleton, WI but did spend 10 years in Bella Vista, Arkansas after Mr. Wallace’s retirement from the Pentair Corporation in 1978. Her husband Kenneth Wallace Preceded her in death on December 15, 2003. Clara is survived by three sons: Michael of Neenah, Stephen of Crivitz, and Douglas (Elizabeth) of Green Bay; two daughters: Gwen (Ray) Zimmerman of Crivitz, and Rebecca (John) Galligan of Westlake, OH; 10 grandchildren: Kenneth (Sue) Wallace, Stephanie Wallace, Patrick (Cara) Wallace, Kevin Wallace, Kelly (Gerard) Pinkas, Heather (Randy) Weisenseel, John (Jen) Galligan, and Isaac, Erin and Evan Wallace; seven great-grandchildren: Nicole and Sam Wallace, Ian Pinkas, Carley Jean and Ashlin Kate Wallace, Derek Michael Weisenseel; and five sisters: Mable Weisgerber, Florence Mitchell, Gladys Verhagen, Dorothy Planner and Frances (Mark) Verbeten.
In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death by five brothers: Ervin, Walter, Elzer, Elard and Edward VandeHey; and a sister, Margaret Engelhardt.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2004, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, Tri-County Chapel, 3212 South Oneida Street, with Fr. Robert Karuhn officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
A memorial fund in Clara’s name is being established.
