Age 105, died Thursday evening, November 22, 2001. She was born September 13, 1896 to the late Otto and Minnie Kluge, in Hortonville, and had been an area resident all of her life. Clara attended Oshkosh Normal School and had been employed by the Ritzke Dairy and the AAL. During the period of silent movies, Clara played the piano at the Hortonville Theater. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church, and a former member of Mt. Olive Ev. Lutheran Church and Zion Lutheran Church. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Judith Vogt, Carmichael, CA; three grandsons, Philip, Eric and Kyle Vogt; and a sister, Eda Strelow, Appleton; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Ritzke, her second husband, Philipp Vogt and a son Franklyn Ritzke. Funeral services for Clara will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, November 25, 2001, at FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN CHURCH, with Reverend J. Christian Quello officiating. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. There will be no visitation. A memorial fund is being established.
