Christopher Allen McConnell

Christopher Allen McConnell, age 51, of Appleton, passed away at his residence after an extended illness, on January 16, 2020.

Chris was born in Green Bay, WI on June 6, 1968 to Thomas McConnell and Florence McConnell. After graduating from Oshkosh North High School in 1987, Chris went on to a life-long career in hospitality. Chris met his life partner, Mark Zellmer, in 2003. Together with Mark and his mother, Flo, Chris devoted his life to German Shepherd rescue, braving all weather conditions to make sure they found their forever homes. Most recently Chris was working diligently on his new company and biggest accomplishment, Stomaflo LLC, a medical aid to help those with urostomy to live with confidence.

In his spare time, Chris enjoyed being with his boys, working in his yard, travel, fishing and hosting parties. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Chris is survived and will be dearly missed by his partner of 17 years, Mark; his mother, Florence McConnell; his father, Thomas McConnell; siblings, Brian, Jo-el and Tommy (Stacey); nieces and nephews, Aleah, Peter, Hunter, Logan, Morgan, Olivia, Cohen, Emjay and Lilly; Mark’s parents, Herb (Karen) Tesch; Mark’s siblings, Rick (Dawn) Tesch and Sue Tesch; many other dear extended family and friends.

A Memorial Gathering will be held for Chris from 4-7 PM on Friday, January 24, 2020 at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton, WI 54911.
