Christine Maria Ulman, 87, of Spring, TX, sadly departed from us on August 24, 2024, due to complications stemming from an aortic dissection she suffered a month earlier.
She was born in Nijmegen, The Netherlands on October 24, 1936, and immigrated to the USA, relocating to Appleton, with her parents and sisters in 1948.
She graduated from St. Mary Catholic High School, Menasha, WI and then St. Norbert College, DePere, WI. She married Robert Ulman in 1963 and worked at Appleton City Hall until she left to raise their two children, Laurie and John. After Robert’s passing in 2005, Christine moved to Spring, TX in 2007 to be near her daughter Laurie (Ulman) Willimann and husband James and their four children. Christine was known for her upbeat, lively and engaging spirit. Up until her health incident, she lived independently and led an active lifestyle including a recent trip to Europe with her daughter and granddaughters, and a trip to visit her sister, brother-in-law and family in Wisconsin this past July. She loved playing games, traveling, taking pictures, trying new recipes, gardening, and connecting with people. She adored her family and enjoyed opportunities to be together; her grandchildren, their friends, and her great grandchildren all adored her.
She loved the color red, which fit her vibrant personality. Christine was involved in her church in Texas, singing in the choir, to being involved in Senior Friends, to more recently knitting in the Prayer Shawl ministry. She loved her neighbors & living in Spring, TX. She will be dearly missed.
Christine was preceded in death by her parents John and Wilhelmine Kokke, husband Robert, sister and brother-in-law Geri and Thomas Rickert, and sister and brother-in-law Yvonne and Michael Bauer.
