Charlotte Zephirin

Charlotte Zephirin. Age 93, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, July 16, 2007 at her apartment in Kaukauna. Charlotte was born March 28, 1914 in Kimberly, daughter of the late Richard and Josephine (Gunschewick) Cavil. Charlotte attended Holy Name School in Kimberly, and spent her freshman year of high school in Canada. She returned to Kimberly in time to graduate in 1933. On September 10, 1940, she married Bill Zephirin at Holy Name Church in Kimberly and worked at the Kimberly Clark Mill until 1940, at which time she and Bill began their tavern business. They operated establishments in both Appleton and Auburndale for many years. Charlotte lived for a time in Wisconsin Rapids, but when her husband Bill died in 1983, she moved back to the valley to be near to her children.

She is survived by a daughter: Zona (Ron) Weyenberg of Kimberly; a son: Craig Zephirin of Appleton; four grandsons: Brian (Diane) Weyenberg, Gary (Sandra) Weyenberg, David (Lisa) Weyenberg, and Mark (Beth) Weyenberg; twelve great-grandchildren: Mike (Stephanie) Weyenberg, Ryan Weyenberg and his fiancée Heather, Curtis Weyenberg, Taylor Weyenberg, Cassie Weyenberg, Laura Ebbens, Sierra Weyenberg, Aspen Weyenberg, Wren Weyenberg, Justin Weyenberg, Alex Weyenberg, and Megan Weyenberg; two great-great-grandchildren: Asia and Soren Weyenberg; three sisters: Genrose Staley of Little Chute, Rosemary Tousey of Appleton, and Gloria Kraft of Kimberly. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill in 1983, a son Willie in 1995, a brother Richard Cavin, Jr. in 1935, as well as many other relatives and friends.

The funeral liturgy for Charlotte will be held at 5:00 PM on Thursday, July 19, 2007 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH – Kimberly Campus with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call directly at the church on Thursday from 3:00 PM until the hour of the services.
