Charlotte Boettcher

Age 74, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2002 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on January 21, 1928 in Denver, Colorado the daughter of the late Dr. Edward and Adeline (Zander) McDowell. She lived in Wausau for 14 years and moved to Milwaukee. She graduated from Rufus King High School as valedictorian in January of 1946. She attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison. On September 10, 1949 she married Adelbert L. Boettcher in Milwaukee and spent 52 wonderful years together. She loved traveling and reading and in the last 27 years had been to almost everywhere in the world. She was a former longtime member of the Appleton Women’s Club, Lady Elks, Appleton Lioness Club, and U.C.T. Auxiliary.
She was a truly devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her husband Del of Appleton, one son Jeffrey (Nancee) Boettcher of Green Bay; two granddaughters Amy Boettcher of Madison, and Julie Boettcher of West Lafayette, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one daughter Jill Adelia in infancy.
Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, April 17, 2002 at 11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, 912 North Oneida Street with the Rev. Larry Matthews officiating. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established.
