JACKSON, CHARLIE, JR. “SHORTY”
Mr. Charlie Jackson was called home on Sunday, February 12, 2006 at 10:00 pm after a short illness. He was born April 17, 1944 in Clarksdale, Mississippi the fifth child of eight to Charlie and Evelyn Jackson. Charlie accepted Christ at an early age and received his education through Africa Round Away Elementary School and Aiggie Junior High School in Clarksdale, MS. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Geraldine Booker and to this union three children were born, Leon, Anthony and Brenda. Charlie made Chicago home in 1974 and later met Adele and moved to Appleton, WI. He was a strong caring husband, father and friend.
Charlie leaves to cherish precious memories a loving and devoted lifelong partner of 38 years, Adele Covington of Appleton; two sons: Leon of Baltimore , MD and Anthony of Buloxi, MS; his daughter, Brenda of Buloxi, MS; two stepsons: Carl and Steve; four stepdaughters: Arleen, Denise, Wanda and Linda all of Appleton. He is further survived by his mother, Evelyn Jackson of Chicago; two brothers: Eddie (Janet) and Johnnie (Connie); a sisters, Leslie (Walter) of Chicago; two sisters-in-law: Maimi and Bernice of Chicago, along with many grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Charlie was preceded in death by his father, Charlie, brothers: Joe James and L.B.; sisters: Dealie Mae and Rose.
The funeral service for Charlie will be held at 12:00 pm (noon) on Thursday, February 23, 2006 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, Tri County Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of service.
