Age 80, passed away in Appleton on Thursday, October 13, 2005. He was born on December 10, 1924 in Joplin, MO, son of the late Charles and Edith (Periman) Sieber. On April 12, 1947 he married Katherine Mente in Milwaukee. He served the United States Marine Corp. in the Pacific during WWII. As a Free and Accepted Mason, Charles served for almost 45 years in Waverly Lodge 51 F.A.M. and was a Past Mastor in 1976.
Charles is survived by his wife of 58 years, Katherine; daughter, Cindy (John) Zenz and their children: Jodi, Brian, Erik and Tony, all of Appleton; sister, Ruth Blake of Illinois; brother-in-law, Frank Mortonson; and nieces, nephews and good friends. Charles is preceded in death by his son, Chuck; sisters: Thelma, Barbara and Lillian.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 17, 2005 at Appleton Highland Memorial Park, 3131 N. Richmond Ave., Appleton, with Pastor Jason Cuzzolina officiating. Friends will be received at the “Star of Hope” Chapel from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The entombment and military honors conducted by V.F.W. Post 2778, Appleton, will follow the service.
The family extends a special thank you to the I.C.U. and E.R. nursing staff at Appleton Medical Center and sincere appreciation to Dr. Fletcher, Dr. Nonn and Dr. Steven J. Hagen for their expertise and care.
A memorial fund in Charles name is being established.
