Chuck Collar, 70, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, with his wife beside him. He was born on February 18, 1953, in Appleton, the son of Ira Sr. and Paulene (Schuster) Collar. Chuck was united in marriage to Judy Johnson in August of 1972. He loved all things cars and racing, including working on them. Chuck enjoyed welding, fishing trips especially in Canada, and boating. He owned his own welding shop called Chuck’s Service for 10 years. Chuck will be remembered most for his good personality and heart of gold.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy; his 4 brothers: Ira Jr. (Kathy), Joe (Mary), Dominick (Nancy), and David (Kim) Collar; brothers- and sisters-in-law: Larry (Sharon) Johnson, Ray Dietz, Cindy (George) Hopfensperger, Bernadette McFadden, Ken (Kelly) Johnson, Bill Johnson, Nancy (Bruce) Van Zeeland; many nieces and nephews; lifelong friends: Mike (Kathy), Reuben, Kim (Linda), and Peter; other relatives and friends.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers: Infant Christopher Collar and Andy (Mary) Collar; and a sister-in-law: Mary Dietz.
A memorial gathering for Chuck will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023, from 11 am to 1 pm, at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri-County Chapel, 1592 Oneida St., Menasha. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
Chuck’s wife would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at ThedaCare at Home and Hospice, Community Partnership, Stacey with the Christian Servants, and the Winchester Lion’s Club for all their care, support, and compassion.
Chuck, I am so happy that you are now out of pain and can move on your own again. I miss you so much, my heart is breaking. I will always love you! Judy
