Catherine (Kay) Splichal passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at the age of 84 at Brewster Village. She was born on April 20, 1923 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to the late Fred and Rose (Hurckman) Naumann. On October 11, 1941, she married Henry “Hank” Splichal. Kay and Hank were married for 42 years until he preceded her in death in 1983. Kay loved life, her family, gardening, chocolate and discussing politics. She was also an avid reader. Kay was a very giving person. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for over 50 years and donated many years to Sacred Heart's charitable organizations.

Kay is lovingly survived by her children: Gary (Chris) Splichal of Hortonville, Kathleen Splichal of Appleton, Laurence Splichal and his partner, Toni, of Los Angeles, California; grandchildren: Jason L (Heather) and Kelly; great grandchildren: Tristan and River; sister: Gerry Albrecht of Green Bay, Wisconsin; brother: Harold Naumann of Washington, Illinois and many nieces and nephews. Kay is further survived by her special friend, Verna. Kay is preceded in death by her brother, Fred (Catherine) Naumann, sister-in-law, Gerti Naumann and brother-in-law, Lee Albrecht.

A funeral service for Kay will be held at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior Street, Appleton, on Monday, February 4, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. with Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, February 4, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.

The family of Kay would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at Brewster Village for all their care and support of Kay.
