Caryl M. Baril

Caryl Marie Baril, Age 81, of Kimberly, WI, passed way on Wednesday, April 5 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton.

She was born in Tomahawk, WI, on February 22, 1942 to Kingsley T. and Florence L. (Dehlinger) Oelhafen. Caryl attended St. Mary Catholic Elementary School and spent her high school years at Holy Cross High School in Merrill, from which she was a graduate of the class of 1950.

Caryl met, and then married, James Baril on August 8, 1964. They originally lived in Milwaukee, but later moved to Kimberly where they lived for over 50 years.

Caryl was a small woman with a huge heart! She loved her life as a homemaker, but also had an in-home daycare where she touched the lives of many children. She loved all things cooking, but especially baking and candy making. She had a dish-to-pass or a baked good for every party, function, and funeral in the area. She was also an expert crafter. Not a holiday went by that she didn’t have a special hand-crafted item or sweatshirt in her repertoire!

She was a member of the Kimberly Homemakers Club and the Ladies Legion Auxiliary.

Caryl had no children, but is survived by her nieces and nephew, Kari Timm, Lisa Porter, and Kraig Oelhafen; 8 great-nieces and nephews; and 13 great-great-nieces and nephews.

Caryl also had two very special friends, her lifelong buddy Debbie Heckert of Appleton, and her right-hand man for the last few years, Marvin Wyngard,

Caryl was preceded in death by her husband Jim; her parents, Kingsley and Florence Oelhafen; and her brother Arthur Oelhafen.

A service for Caryl will be held on Wednesday, April 12, at 11:00 AM, at Jansen Fargo Funeral Home, 204 E. Kimberly Ave, Kimberly. A visitation will be held prior from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM.
