Carrol F. Theiss

Carrol Frances Theiss, passed away peacefully, just shy of her 100^th birthday.  Carrol was born on January 9, 1922, daughter to Francis and Emma (Buettner) Barribeau.  She graduated from Oconto High School class of 1940.  Carrol married Cyril “Cy” Theiss on April 19, 1947.  Sadly, Cy passed away in 1985.  Carrol was proud of her work as a sales clerk in the Men’s department at Gimbels and Marshal Field’s department stores.  She retired in 1991 after 20 years.

Much of Carrol’s life was driven by her strong Catholic faith including: volunteering at her home church St. Joseph Parish Mission club, and singing with the Sacred Heart Church choir.  Carrol was also an avid Green Bay Packer fan. She loved playing scrabble, doing crossword puzzles, playing bingo, enjoyed canasta in her Ladies Card Club and going to movies. Above all, Carrol cherished the time spent with her family and friends all whom enjoyed her unique talent of telling jokes.

Carrol is survived by her children: Gregory (Lynn) Theiss, Diane (Gary) Thiel, and Brian Theiss; 8 grandchildren: Laura and Jesse Robinson, Sarah (Jason) Krajewski, Amanda (Luke) Gibson, Lana Thiel, Mara Thiel, Kyle Theiss, Jaqui (Mike) Kiersten, and Steven Thiess; 10 great grandchildren: Julian, Nola, Cruz, Zoey, Bennett, Amelia, Imogen, Cassidy, Emma Lynn, and Gage; she is further survived by other relatives and friends.  Carrol is preceded in death by; her husband: Cy; infant son: Bradly; son: Jeffrey; her parents, brothers and sister as well as all of her Theiss in-laws.

The Funeral Liturgy for Carrol will the held at 10:30 am on Monday, November 29, 2021, at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH,  410 West Lawrence St. Appleton.  The visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the time of Mass.  Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery. The family suggest attendees wear a mask regardless of vaccination status.  A memorial fund in Carrol’s name will be established. Online condolences may be expressed a www.wichmannfargo.com.
