Age 77, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Wednesday, February 20, 2008. She was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on February 19, 1931 the daughter of the late Roy Monroe and B. Miriam (Sprenger) Umberger. On August 14, 1954 she married her loving husband of 53 years, Robert J. Pulda. Carolyn worked for Lawrence University as a secretary for R.O.T.C. and also for the Institute for Paper Chemistry. She spent many years babysitting numerous children for working parents. Carolyn enjoyed working all kinds of puzzles and loved her dogs. She will be remembered for being an amazing cook and taking good care of her family.

Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, Robert; children: Robert T. (Diane) Pulda of Appleton, Virginia A. Pulda of Livermore, CA, and Donald M. (Susan) Pulda of Appleton; grandchildren: Steven (Julie) Pulda of Neenah, Amy (Jeremiah) Torrez of Neenah, Lennon Pulda of San Francisco, CA: Adam, Andrew, Erich and Joseph Pulda, all of Appleton; sister, Betty Patterson of Glenn Berni, MD; and sisters-in-law: Irene Umberger of Canyon City, CO, and Betty Umberger of Fleetwood, PA. She is further survived by Robert's caring family and many good friends. Carolyn is preceded in death by her brothers: Roy Umberger, Jr., Richard Umberger and Timothy Umberger; and brother-in-law, Aubrey Patterson.

The memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at FOX VALLEY CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP, 1200 W. Kimberly Ave., Kimberly, with Rev. Steve Nickel officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

The family expresses a special thank you to Marleen Hansel for being a good friend to Carolyn. Further, a special thank you to the second and fourth floor staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital for their exceptional care.

Memorials may be given directly to Fox Valley Christian Fellowship, Kimberly.
