Appleton - Carol was born on March 9, 1948 to Sebastian & Susan (Bryan) Amore in Brooklyn NY. She attended St. Rose of Lima grade school and St. Francis Xavier Academy in Brooklyn. She attended nursing school at Mary Immaculate Hospital School of Nursing in Queens.
She met the love of her life, Jim Laga, while he was stationed at St. Albans Naval Hospital in Queens. They married in 1970 after he returned from serving in Vietnam.
Appleton was now home and she switched allegiances from the NY Giants to the Packers and the NY Mets to the Brewers.
Carol volunteered in the religion education program at St. Bernadette and also volunteered at her children's schools whenever she could.
Carol was a Registered Nurse for 43 years. She worked at Appleton Medical Center/Theda Care. Most of those years she served on the heart team in inpatient surgery. Nursing was Carol's passion and joy. She nursed with precision and pride and took the opportunity to pass on her knowledge and love of nursing to a number of fortunate mentees.
As a family, the Laga's enjoyed camping, outdoor activities and travel. As the kids grew, she enjoyed watching them both through their many sports and performances.
Her personal hobbies and leisure activities centered around knitting, spinning yarn, and knitting prayer shawls. Carol was a lifetime avid reader.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Joy Laga, her son Luke (Emily) Laga, grandchildren Anna, Spencer and Beckham, brothers Anthony (Katie) Amore, Bryan (Lisa) Amore, brother-in-law Andrew Palumbo and sisters-in-law Lynn Loeper and Jill (Mark) Beyer. Carol is also survived by many nieces, nephews and God-children and her companion puppy Minnie.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Jim Laga, her sister Patricia Palumbo, her parents and in-laws Chuck and Lavern Laga, Tim and Kay Laga and Mike Loeper.
