Age 75, died Tuesday evening at the Appleton Medical Center, following a massive stroke on Friday night. Caroline was born on February 19, 1926 in West Branch, Michigan, daughter of the late Charles and Ida Post. She grew up in West Branch and Frederic, Michigan, and was a 1944 graduate of Grayling High School. On August 13, 1949, she married Frank Madill at St. Mary Church in Grayling, Michigan; he survives. Caroline enjoyed being with her family both here and in Michigan, and was very active with sewing and gardening around her house. She and her family traveled extensively around the country, especially in Michigan and Georgia where they had previously resided. Caroline was a faithful member of Holy Name Church in Kimberly and of the Post #60 American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband: Frank Madill of Kimberly; three children: Nelda Keenan and her special friend John Hargo of Kimberly; Nadine (Hank) De Wild of Kimberly; and Michael (Barbara Bezzi) Madill of Appleton. She was especially fond of her four grandchildren: Carrie Keenan of Appleton and Monica, Meggie, and Hank De Wild of Kimberly; five brothers: George (Irene) Post of Trufant, Michigan; Leo Post of Grayling, Michigan; Morden (Gloria) Post of Grayling, Michigan; Jack (Marilyn) Post of Flushing, Michigan; Bill (Nancy) Post of Hart, Michigan; a brother-in-law: John (Barbara) Madill of Davison, Michigan; a sister-in-law: Mary Ellen (Orville) Hilliker of Troy, Michigan. Caroline was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Milford (Betty) Post, and sisters-in-law Eileen Parsons and Helma Post.
A memorial funeral liturgy for Caroline will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 1, 2001 at HOLY NAME CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue in Kimberly with Rev. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Inurnment will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia. Friends may call directly at the church on Saturday from 10 AM until the hour of the liturgy.
