Carol June Lundgren

Carol lived with spirit, strength, grace and love. She died the same way on December 4, 2024 at age 95. She was born in St. Paul Minnesota to Edwin and Esther Larson on June 8, 1929. She was the middle child of the 3 Larson girls.

She attended the University of MN for 2 years studying home economics. She married Richard Lundgren in 1950. Carol worked as a school secretary. They moved to Appleton in 1960 and were busy raising 3 children. They were very active members of Trinity Lutheran Church, including Carol being a Stephen Minister. They made many lifelong friends through church. The group had years of fun just being together for all sorts of occasions. Dick preceded Carol in death in 1992.

Carol enjoyed working as a teacher's aide in Appleton, and at Conkey's Bookstore. She also enjoyed 16 years traveling to over 20 Elderhostel’s both in the United States and abroad. She made several trips to Sweden and Alaska as well. Carol loved adventure. She also loved her family and being a grandma.

Carol reconnected with a good friend from her youth. She married Richard Borgstrom in 2007 and moved back to St. Paul. They enjoyed 11years of marriage, many trips and adventures too. Dick preceded Carol in death in 2018.

Carol's talents and interests included sewing, upholstery, cross stitch, exploring art medians, attending concerts/plays, bible study, book club and volunteering.

Carol moved back to Appleton and into The Heritage in 2018. Carol and her family are so grateful for the wonderful and compassionate care the Heritage/CBR staff has given to Carol. Our hearts thank you.

Carol is survived by her 3 children: Kirk (Mary), Beth (Todd) and Kari (Ron), her 4 grandchildren Cullen, Olivia (Alex), Stefan (Khurshid), Catherine (Wayne), her 2 stepdaughters Judy Belland and family JoAnn Anderson (Jim) and family as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

There will be a visitation for Carol on Sunday December 22, 2024 from 11:00 AM until the service begins at Wichmann Funeral Homes, Tri County Chapel. There will be a memorial service at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery of Appleton at a later date.

A memorial fund will be established with donations being used to support Trinity Lutheran Church of Appleton.
