Carol (Porath) Lingenfelter of Appleton, Wisconsin, age 76, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2015, with family by her side. Carol was born December 2, 1939, in Neenah, Wisconsin, the daughter of Harold H. and Rosalind (Reddin) Porath.
Carol worked as a math and communications aide at Fox Valley Technical College for 15 years, until her health forced her to leave a job she truly enjoyed. Carol was a volunteer at Theda Clark Hospital and The Community Clothes Closet. For many years she enjoyed singing with the Y-Nots. When at home, she enjoyed reading and knitting sweaters that were sent to children in need.
She is survived by a daughter, Janine (Mike) Wurzer, Weyauwega; son, Greg (Marla) Lingenfelter, Appleton; ex-husband, Robin Lingenfelter, Harshaw; daughter-in-law, Lisa Lingenfelter, Neenah; brother, Harry (Lois) Porath; grandchildren, Alex (fiancé Nikki Lefebvre), Nick, and Ian (Alysia) Lingenfelter: Hannah and Nora Lingenfelter, Lucas (fiancé Samantha Huntley) and Stefany (fiancé Andrew Natiello) Cross; great grandchildren, Connor and Adie Cross.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Douglas, and a sister, Shirley Hand.
Funeral services will be held at Wichmann Funeral Home, Superior Street Location, on Friday, December 18, 2015 at 5:00pm. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 to 5:00 pm. To express condolences, please visit www.wichmannfargo.com.
Carol's family would like to thank the staff at Renaissance Assisted Living and Brewster Village in Appleton, as well as the Heartland hospice team. You cared for our mom with loving compassion and respect.
