DUMKE, CAROL JEAN
Carol Jean Dumke, 59, of Appleton, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2010, after fighting bravely against ovarian cancer. She was born on August 5, 1950, to Arthur and Rachel (Tubbs) Dumke. Carol was a lifelong member of First English Lutheran Church. She was employed for 38 years at Kimberly Clark Corporation and most recently was House Manager for the Performing Arts Center in Appleton. Working at the PAC brought many friends and much joy into Carol's life. She loved going to Door County, working in her flower garden, and attending weekly lunches with her mother and sisters. Carol also created many special memories with her nieces and nephews and their families. The center of Carol's life was her family. She is survived by her mother, Rachel Dumke, Appleton; her brother Jim (Dawn) Dumke, Perrysburg, Ohio; her two sisters, Diane McGinnis, Appleton, and Mary (Terry) Maves, Appleton; her brother-in-law, Burnell Schubbe, Sarasota, Florida; her 20 nieces and nephews; her 18 grand nieces and grand nephews. Carol is further survived by her dog, Dorie. She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Dumke; her sister, Betty Schubbe and her brother-in-law, Chuck McGinnis. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2010, at FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 326 East North Street, Appleton with Rev. Michael H. Dismer officiating. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Appleton, on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again directly at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Carol will be laid to rest in Door County. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff on the Third Floor of AMC and to all the members of Team Carol—”Family and Friends with Faith, Hope and Love.”
