Carol Jean Kargus, age 66, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 30, 2003, with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. Carol was born on October 12, 1936, to the late Ernest and Adeline (Duce) Coenen. She graduated from Appleton West High School in 1953. Carol was employed by Atlas Tag & Label for 17 years before retiring. She married Eugene ''Chuck'' Kargus on October 8, 1960; they enjoyed 42 years of wedded bliss. She is survived by her husband, Chuck; her sons, Jeffery Kellett, Brad (Patricia) Kellett, Donald (Bernie) Kellett, Gregory (Michelle) Kargus; her stepchildren, Jeffrey Kargus, Bradley (Debbie) Kargus and Kathryn Pobuda; her fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is further survived by her brothers, Allan (Ellen) Coenen and James (Rosie) Coenen; her sisters, Arlene (Donald) Netzel and Marion Gambsky; her sisters-in-law, Janice Kargus, Patricia Kargus, Darlene Thein and Sis Coenen. She was preceded in death by her son Kurt Kargus, her granddaughter Erin Kellett, her brother Ralph Coenen, her first husband Robert Kellett, her in-laws Harry and Leona Kargus and Robert and Myrtle Kellett, her brothers-in-law Vernon and Robert Kargus, Gordy Gambsky, and her sisters-in-laws Arlene Kargus and Joan Coenen. It was Carol's wish that there be no funeral services. The family would like to express their gratitude to Affinity Hospice, the Oncology floor at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Dr. Rob Geller and his entire staff (especially Carol and Norean), for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any memorials be directed to Affinity Hospice, 3000 East Enterprise Avenue, Appleton, WI 54913.
