Carol Therese Gilbertson

Carol Gilbertson (born Carol Timmers), died peacefully on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at age 92. Carol grew up in Kaukauna and Kimberly and graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing. She proudly worked as a registered nurse for more than 30 years at Calumet County Homestead in New Holstein and Rolling Meadows in Fond du Lac. She married her cherished husband Harold Gilbertson in 1982. For several decades after their retirement, Carol and Harold enjoyed being snowbirds in Phoenix, Arizona.

Carol loved spending time with her grandchildren, doing needle work, playing bridge and sheephead, and square-dancing. She loved to travel with Harold and their square-dancing adventures took them to many beautiful places, including Hawaii, Europe, and many US states. Carol is survived by her children: Cindy (Michael), Sandy (Jay, deceased), Bill (Gina), Bob (Michael), Evlyn (Stan, deceased), Sandy (Richard), Kathy (Michael), and Dan. Carol is further survived by her sisters Marlene and Romayne, along with nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Veronica and William, her brother Bill, and her husband Harold.
