Carol A. Frailing, 77, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022, at ThedaCare Medical Center, Appleton. She was born on September 4, 1944, in Ripon, the only child of Herbert and Caroline (Koentopp) Chaffin. Carol was united in marriage to Michael Frailing on May 18, 1974, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Greenville. She was employed as a Human Resource manager throughout her working career, retiring at 55 years old, for about 6 months, and returning to work until age 70. Carol was an active member of Mount Olive Ev. Lutheran Church, Appleton, where she attended Wednesday bible study and volunteering at the church. She enjoyed arts and crafts projects; specifically, painting ceramics for family and friends, using her Cricut machine to craft fun shirts and mugs, and walking her dog, Troubles. Carol was an avid card player and a member of the Red Hat Society of Appleton and Green Bay.
Carol is survived by her husband of 48 years: Mike; 4 children: Ken Prellwitz, Stephanie (James) Lucero, Darrell (Colette) Prellwitz, and Kelly Kominowski; 4 grandchildren: Brynna (Matt) Prellwitz, Kiley Prellwitz, Chase Kominowski, and Addison Prellwitz; other relatives and friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; father- and mother-in-law: Arwin and Hilda Frailing; and a son-in-law: Scott Kominowski.
A celebration of life for Carol will be held at 11:00 am, on Friday, March 18, 2022, at Mount Olive Ev. Lutheran Church, 930 Florida Ave., Appleton. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 am until the time of the celebration of life. Inurnment will take place at Hillside Cemetery, Ripon. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Mount Olive Ev. Lutheran Church, Appleton.
