Carol DeZee

Carol Mitchell De Zee, 60, of Neenah, Wisconsin passed away on November 28, 2024, after a short illness. Carol was born in California on September 28, 1964, to Richard and Ann (Mitchell) Rosenthal. After moving to Wisconsin, this California girl became a Green Bay Packers fan. She learned not just to drive in the snow, but to enjoy its beauty.

Throughout Carol’s life, she bravely faced the challenges of bipolar disorder. Her struggle was not easy on her or the ones she loved. Despite the ups and downs of her condition she consistently demonstrated strength and resilience. Carol loved her children and was immensely proud of their accomplishments. They were the joy of her life. Carol was a connector. She loved to bring people together and never knew a stranger. She stayed in touch with her California friends and became part of the fabric of her new home in Neenah. Her friends and family remember her gentle heart, her compassion, and her many sweet gestures that touched so many. She loved her loyal and faithful dogs throughout the years - they brought her much joy and basked in her attention. In California she enjoyed her work at Olde Thompson. Carol also loved to travel, especially enjoying short trips.

Carol is survived by her children: Alexis De Zee and Derek De Zee, her father Richard Rosenthal (Joanne Cadis), her nieces and nephews and many close friends who will miss her dearly. Carol was preceded in death by her mother Margaret Ann Mitchell, her grandmother Virginia Markowitz-Mitchell, and her brother Robert James (RJ) Mitchell Rosenthal. Her family plans a celebration of life at a later date.

A special thank you to her son Derek for his devotion, constant care, and compassion. He was often referred to as “her Prince “.

Thanks also to Aunt Tiffany and special friends Casey and Nancy for their support, care and unconditional love to Carol during these last few months, and all those who helped in this time of need. Thank you all, your kindness will never be forgotten.
