Age 78, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2020 at her home in Appleton, WI after a long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family and friends on her final days.
Carol (Duchow) Wenzel was born on December 26, 1941 to Rueben & Vera (Stahel) Duchow of Potter, WI. She was joined in marriage to Donald J Wenzel on April 14, 1960 and had 3 children Kurt, Todd & Tina
Anyone who knew Carol will remember her rousing, generous, kind-hearted personality. From 1985-2007, she successfully owned/managed her trendy tavern, Carol’s “The Place to Be”. She loved going to Country USA and camping with family and friends. She also cherished time with her sisters at Cruisin 50’s & 60’s concerts.
Carol is survived by her children Kurt (Wendy) Wenzel, Tina Wenzel, daughter-in-law Nancy (Pleshek) Wenzel, grandchildren Bennet, Dylan, Brady and Natasha, siblings; Sandy Meyers, Jeri (Bob) Oenes, Donna (Jim) Kielgas, Stu (Kathy) Duchow, Penny Steinke, in-laws Rosie Vomberg, Harley (Ann) Wenzel, Jim (Nancy) Wenzel, Victor (Greta) Wenzel, Sidney (Penny) Wenzel, Angie Koehler, Marilyn Nettekoven and her best friend Susie Goll. Carol will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, dear friends and grand dog Athena.
Carol is preceded in death by her husband Donald, son Todd, her parents Rueben and Vera Duchow, step father Winford Kasper, parents-in-laws Benny and Sophie Wenzel, in-laws, Jim Meyers, Fred Steinke, Mary Ann (Al) Seffker, Paul Koehler and Geneva (Earl) Nettekoven .
Funeral services for Carol will be held on Saturday, June 20th at 11:00 AM at Peace Evangelical and Reformed Church, 181 Main Street, Potter, WI with Rev. Dr. Marc Axelrod officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of services. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Sherwood.
